Nicelle Beauchene Gallery has worked directly with a number of Quiltmakers and their families to further secure the vital legacy of Gee’s Bend quiltmaking. Most recently, the gallery has shown a selection of contemporary quilts by living and working quilters from Gee’s Bend in the exhibition My Way: Gee's Bend Today (2024), the third exhibition in a three part series following My Way: A Gathering (2023) at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery, New York; and My Way: The Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers and Contemporary Abstraction (2020) at Parts and Labor, Beacon NY.

Nicelle Beauchene Gallery is located at 7 Franklin Place in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York. The gallery first opened on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2008 to promote the work of emerging local and international artists. In December 2012, Beauchene relocated to a historic two-story building on Broome Street to expand upon the Lower East Side's histories of collaboration, cooperation, and flexible exhibition contexts. For several years, the gallery operated an off-site project space staged in an apartment, allowing artists to reconfigure the boundaries of the domestic sphere, as well as an upstate project called Parts & Labor in Beacon, NY co-run with dealer Franklin Parrasch.
